Talking about Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, the people of this city have seen the era of hand carts, bullock carts, horse carriages, cycle rickshaws, tempos, autos, buses, minibuses, magic vehicles, BRTS etc. The era of Metro Rail is about to begin, Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation is working day and night on the Metro rail project in Bhopal. MPMRCL is determined to gift the people of Bhopal a Mass Rapid Transit System aka, Metro train till next year to go from one place to another within the city.

As metro systems are Mass Rapid Transit System it is generally more efficient than bus systems, they can move large numbers of people around a city quickly and efficiently.

The transformation of the metro system has made it much easier for people to get around and has increased the efficiency of public transportation. It’s also more user-friendly, with focus on simplicity and features like real-time train arrival times and a trip planner that helps you select the best route.

Adoption of Digital Technology

A big step forward that makes the commute even more convenient and accessible for people. Bhopal and Indore Metro Rail System has proposed the electronic ticketing and card system. This system will make it possible for people to use their NCMC (National Common Mobility Card) card to not only pay their fares but use it for travelling and shopping as well.

Progress so far

Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation is committed to starting Metro Rail in Bhopal as soon as possible. The Pile foundation work of the 6.225 km length of Metro viaduct under the Priority Corridor is cent per cent completed, while the civil work for the station is also progressing. The pile foundation work of all the stations has also been 100 per cent completed. The construction of the 10 pier arms upto concourse level, pile and pile cap of Subhash Nagar station has also been 100 per cent completed, and the work of other stations is also in progress. The officials of Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation are monitoring and reviewing the progress of Metro Rail work. So far, about 35 per cent of pile foundation work has been completed in Subhash Nagar Depot. To speed up the construction work, the number of labourers are also being increased.
