9 firms bid for civil contract package CS6 of Surat Metro Rail Project

Surat, India (Metro Rail Today): Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRC) has received a total of nine (9) bids against the civil work contract package C6 of Surat Metro Rail Project Phase 1. Technical bids for the contract package CS6 were opened on May 4, 2022.

As per the information shared, the following nine construction firms/consortia have shown their interest to construct a total of 8.702 km stretch (Majura Gate - Saroli Dead End) of 19.26 km Corridor-2 of Surat Metro that will connect Bhesan to Saroli through 18 metro stations.

  • Dilip Buildcon Ltd.
  • Evrascon – Varindera Construction JV
  • HG Infra Engineering Ltd.
  • Ranjit Buildcon Ltd.
  • YFC Projects – MCL JV

Tender notice for the construction of this stretch of Corridor 2 of Surat Metro under contract package C6 was issued in February 2022, with an estimated work value of Rs 591 crores.

The scope of work includes the construction of an 8.702 km elevated viaduct and 7 nos. stations (Excl. E&M, Architectural Finishing and Roofing) from Majura Gate (Ch. 9090 m) to Saroli Dead End (Ch. 17791.851 m) under Corridor-2 in connection with Surat Metro Rail Project Phase – 1

The 7 elevated stations en route will be constructed at Udhna Dawaja, Kamela Darwaja, Anjana Farm, Model Town, Magob, Bharat Cancer Hospital and Saroli.

Now all bids have been sent for the technical evaluation and once the technical evaluation is completed GMRC will open the Financial Bids for this contract package.

This contract package will be funded by KfW through an ODA loan agreement amounting to 442.26 million Euros signed between KfW and Govt. of India in December 2021.
