Surat, India (Metro Rail Today): The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRC) on June 18, 2022, opened the financial bids for the contract package CS5 of the Surat Metro Rail project. As per the information, a consortium comprising Ranjit Buildcon Ltd and Dilip Buildcon Ltd emerged as the lowest bidder among the other five bidders/consortia.
The scope of work includes the construction of a 10.559 Km Elevated Viaduct and 11 Nos. Stations (Excl. E&M, Architectural Finishing and Roofing) From Bheshan Dead End (Ch. -949.63 m) to Majura Gate Station (Ch. 9090m) including Viaduct Ramp to Depot Entry near Bheshan for the Surat Metro Rail Project Phase – 1, Corridor-2 (Package 1). The 11 stations which are included in this contract package are Bhesan, Botanical Garden, Ugat Vaarigruh, Palanpur Road, LP Savani School, Performing Art Centre, Adajan Gam, Aquarium, Badri Narayan Temple and Athwa Chopati.
The financial position of each bidder is as under:-
Tender notice for the construction of about 10.5 km elevated viaducts including 11 metro stations was issued in January 2022 with an estimated work value of Rs 870 crore. Technical bids were opened in May 2022.
Now all bids have been sent for final evaluation by the tender committee.
The 10.5 km stretch is part of 19.26 km long fully elevated Corridor 2 of the Surat Metro Rail Project which will connect Bhesan to Saroli with 18 metro stations at Bhesan, Botanical Garden, Ugat Vaarigruh, Palanpur Road, LP Savani School, Performing Art Centre, Adajan Gam, Aquarium, Badri Narayan Temple, Athwa Chopati, Majura Gate (interchange), Udhna Dawaja, Kamela Darwaja, Anjana Farm, Model Town, Magob, Bharat Cancer Hospital and Saroli.
