Eight firms bid for civil contract package CS4 of Surat Metro Rail Project

Surat, India (Metro Rail Today): Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRC) has received a total of eight (8) bids against the civil work contract package C4 of Surat Metro Rail Project Phase 1. Technical bids for the contract package CS4 were opened on May 4, 2022.

As per the information shared, the following eight construction firms have shown their interest to construct a total of 4.15 km stretch (Sarthana – North Ramp) of 22.77 km Corridor-1 of Surat Metro that will connect Sarthana to Dream City through 20 metro stations.

  • Ashoka Buildcon Ltd.
  • Ranjit Buildcon Ltd.
  • Dineshchandra R Agarwal Infracon Pvt. Ltd.
  • Evrascon – Varindera Construction JV
  • Kalthia Engineering & Construction Ltd.
  • MCL – YFC Projects JV

Tender notice for the construction of the last stretch of Corridor 1 of Surat Metro under contract package C4 was issued on February 25, 2022, with an estimated work value of Rs 286 crores.

The scope of work includes the construction of 4.15 km (ch. -450 to ch. 3700) elevated viaduct dead-end of Sarthana station to end of UG ramp including 4 stations (Excl. E&M, Architectural finishing and Roofing) for Surat Metro Rail Project Phase 1, Corridor 1.

Now all bids have been sent for the technical evaluation and once the technical evaluation is completed GMRC will open the Financial Bids for this contract package.

This contract package will be funded by KfW through an ODA loan agreement amounting to 442.26 million Euros signed between KfW and Govt. of India in December 2021.
