Govt of India approves ₹5,452 crore HUDA City Centre-Cyber City Metro Corridor

Gurugram, India (Metro Rail Today): The Central Government cabinet today approved the proposal for 28.5 kilometres metro line from HUDA City Centre to Cyber City, Gurugram with spur to Dwarka at the cost of Rs 5,452 crore. The dicision was taken in a high-level cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The development is informed by Union Minister for Housing & Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri.

"In a milestone decision for urban connectivity & commute, the Union Cabinet under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has approved the proposal for metro line from HUDA City Centre to Cyber City, Gurugram with spur to Dwarka," said Hardeep Singh Puri.

"The 28.5 Km elevated line with 27 stations will be built with a total cost of ₹5,452.72 crore & will connect old & new Gurgaon. It will be implemented by Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Company. By 2026, this line will have an estimated ridership of nearly 5.34 lakhs daily passengers," he added.

"When functional, the proposed metro line will enhance urban connectivity to & from Gurgaon which is currently served by the Yellow Line of Delhi Metro Rail network & 11.6 km of Rapid Metro," he further said.

This metro link would start at HUDA City Centre and move towards Sector 45, Cyber Park, district shopping centre, Sector 47, Subhash Chowk, Sector 48, Sector 72 A, Hero Honda Chowk, Udyog Vihar Phase 6, Sector 10, Sector 37, Basai Village, Sector 9, Sector 7, Sector 4, Sector 5, Ashok Vihar, Sector 3, Bajghera Road, Palam Vihar Extension, Palam Vihar, Sector 23 A, Sector 22, Udyog Vihar Phase 4, Udyog Vihar Phase 5 and finally merge in existing Metro network of Rapid Metro Gurgaon at Moulsari Avenue station near Cyber City.
