Chennai, India (Metro Rail Today): The Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) has been declared as lowest bidder (L1) for the two new contract packages of Phase 2 of Chennai Metro Rail Project pertaining to supply of electrification system (OHE, RSS, ASS & SCADA) for Corridor 3 & 5.
The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) recently opened the financial bids for the two seperate electrification contract packages for supply and installation of OHE, RSS, ASS & SCADA for the Corridor 3 & 5 of Chennai Metro Rail Project Phase 2.
A total of six bidders submitted their bids for design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, training and commissioning of OHE and Switching Stations for Corridor 3 (Madhavaram Milk Colony to Sholinganallur) and Corridor 5 (Madhavaram Milk Colony to CMBT, including Depot at Madhavaram) under Phase 2 of Chennai Metro Rail Project. The financial position of each bidder is as under:-
In another contract package a total three bidders submitted their bids for Design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, training and commissioning of RSS, ASS and SCADA for CMRL Phase II Corridor 3 (From Madhavaram Milk Colony to Sholinganallur) and Corridor 5 (Madhavaram Milk Colony to CMBT, including Depot at Madhavaram) under Phase 2 of Chennai Metro Rail Project. The financial position of each bidder is as under:-
Tender notices for the both contract packegaes were issued in October 2021 with 2350 day (6.44 year) completion deadlines. Technical bids were opened in October 2022. Now all bids have been sent for final evaluation.
CMRL has also finalising the contract for other systems like Electrification, Rolling Stock and E&M. Most of civil contracts are already awarded and the construction work is going at full swing.
