Patna, India (Metro Rail Today): The construction works on Pahse 1 corridors of Patna Metro Rail Project is going on full swing. About 41% of civil work completed so far, revealed Daljeet Singh, Director (Works), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (DMRC) during his three days inspection of the project sites.
Singh on 10th June 2023 asked the engineers to ensure timely completion of the Patna Metro Rail project and prioritise the safety of staff, employees, and the general people in the vicinity of the construction sites. "Regular inspections serve the purpose of maintaining a steady pace of construction," he said.
At least 41% of the work has been completed in Priority Corridor II. Cross-arm erection has begun at ISBT, Khemnichak, and Bhootnath Road stations. Future plans for the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium and other stations were also discussed. "the tunnelling work at Moin-ul-Haq Stadium is progressing well, with the first TBM completing 40 metres of excavation. The second TBM has also started tunnelling works," said the statement.
Singh inspected the progress of the tunnel boring machine (TBM) excavation at Moin-ul-Haq Stadium underground station on 10th June 2023.
During the three-day inspection, Singh visited all the sites, including the casting yard, Pataliputra ISBT Terminal depot, and various underground and elevated station sites such as Akashvani, Gandhi Maidan, Khemnichak, Malahi Pakri, Bhutnath Road, Zero Mile, and Ram Krishna Nagar.
He evaluated the quality, safety, and progress of the work.Keeping in mind the impending monsoon season, Singh assessed the ongoing cleaning activities of the drain located on the north side of NH-30. He also reviewed the progress of monsoon management tasks. He stressed on the need of improvement of drainage systems and canals within the metro construction sites, proper water disposal and organized maintenance of public drains around the site areas.
Singh also instructed the officials concerned to improve barricading and enhance safety sign visibility, besides maintaining cleanliness at the construction sites.
