PNC Infratech wins ₹771.46 crore civil contract for Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor

Gurugram, India (Metro Rail Today): Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (HRIDC), the implementing authority of 121.7 kilometres Oribal Rail Corridor, has recently opened the financial bids of civil contract package C-23 on 28th February 2023 in Gurugram.

The scope of work under contract package C-23 includes design and construction of Civil Works (Earthwork, Bridges, Station Buildings, Retaining Walls and other miscellaneous Works) from km 29.68 to km 49.70 & from km 55.60 to km 61.50 and its connectivities to IR network from New Patli to Patli station & New Patli to Sultanpur station including modifications/civil works at Sultanpur Station in connection with laying of New BG Double Railway line of Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC) project.

As per information shared by HRIDC, Delhi-based construction firm PNC Infratech Ltd emerged as the lowest bidder among other six bidders. The financial position of each bidder is as under:-

  • PNC Infratech Ltd: Rs 771.46 crore (L1)
  • GR Infraprojects Ltd: Rs 797.35 crore (L2)
  • Gawar Construction Ltd: Rs 798.99 crore (L3)
  • Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL): Rs 899.82 crore (L4)
  • Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T): Rs 908.12 crore (L5)
  • IRCON International Ltd: Rs 1,007.41 crore (L6)

However, the seventh bidder Afcons Infrastructure Ltd has been disqualified in technical evaluation, hence, their financial bids not opened. Now all bids have been sent for final evaluation by HRIDC.

Tender notice for this contract package was issued in November 2022 with 910 days work completion deadline. Technical bids were opened in January 2023. This contract package includes construction of 25.92 km section of Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor.

In May 2022, HRIDC had awarded first civil contract of this project to KCC Builcon Pvt. Ltd. for construction of 5.9 km priority section (Manesar – Patli Station) of the project.

The Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor is a 121.742 km proposed semi high-speed rail line connecting Harsana Kalan (Sonipat) and Asaoti (Palwal) within Haryana through 17 stations along the Kundli – Manesar – Palwal (KMP) / Western Peripheral Expressway. The estimated cost of this project is Rs 5,566 crore.
