NHSRCL Signs MoU for Designs of High Speed Rail Track

Vadodara, India (Metro Rail Today): National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Japan Railway Track Consultant Co. Limited (JRTC) for the Designs of High Speed Rail (HSR) Track works for T3 package (116 km between Vadodara and Sabarmati Depot and Workshop in Gujarat state for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor Project, said the press release of National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited.

Addressing on the occasion, Rajendra Prasad, Director Project, NHSRCL said “this MoU signing today is the culmination of hard work put in by Japan Information & Culture Center (JICC), JRTC & NHSRCL teams. JRTC is the only one specialized agency for this kind of highly technical work and with their cooperation we are hopeful to finalize track designs quickly.”

The ceremony was also attended by  ISAO Horiyama, President JRTC,  H.L.Suthar, Principal Executive Director/Design, NHSRCL, other senior officers from NHSRCL, JICC, and JRTC.

NHSRCL has earlier signed MoU for the designs of HSR track and track works for T-2 package (237 km long section) between Vadodara and Vapi in Gujarat state.

Mumbai- Ahmedabad High Speed Rail construction was expected to begin by April 2020 and the project was expected to be completed by December 2023. Due to delays acquiring land in Maharashtra, the completion date has been pushed to October 2028. The stretch of 50 km from Surat to Bilimora is expected to be completed by 2026.
