Re-survey for Mumbai-Pune-Hyderabad Bullet Train Corridor will be done

Pune, India (Metro Rail Today): The route for the Mumbai-Pune-Hyderabad High Speed Railway Corridor, an ambitious project of the Central Government and Maharashtra Government, will be re-surveyed within the limits of the Pune Metropolitan Area Development Authority (PMRDA).

It has been decided that it will be included in the PMRDA’s development plan. The survey of this railway line will start soon. Indian High Speed Railway Corporation Limited has decided to launch bullet trains at eight locations across the country. It has two projects namely Mumbai-Nagpur and Mumbai-Pune-Hyderabad. This train will run at a speed of 250 to 320 kmph.

The distance from Mumbai to Hyderabad is about 711 kilometers. This train will reduce time taken and reach in three and a half hours. There will be few stops on this train route like Pune, Solapur, Pandharpur. A separate track has to be laid for this railway.

The route of this railway passes through the limits of PMRDA. From Lonavla to Pune, Manjari, Saswad. PMRDA has proposed Growth Centers in the development. The High Speed Railway Corporation had earlier written a letter to PMRDA asking for its inclusion. Meanwhile, officials of the company met PMRDA Commissioner Suhas Divase and discussed the possibility of including the railway line in the proposed development plan. After that, a meeting was held in the presence of Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar.

According to an official person, the proposed railway line is hampering the growth center outlined in the model development plan. This route should be surveyed jointly by High Speed Railway Corporation and PMRDA and a new route should be proposed. It was decided in the meeting that it should be included in the development plan after it is approved by the High Speed Rail Corporation. Therefore, the joint survey work for this railway line will be started soon.
