New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (DMRC) has appointed Ayesa India Pvt. Ltd. as detailed design consultant (DDC) for 3 km underground Automated Public Mover (APM) project in Delhi.
DMRC awarded a contract worth Rs 7.48 crore to Ayesa India Pvt. Ltd. in JV with Ayesa Ingenieria Y Arquitectura SA for providing Detail Design Consultant (DDC) for Civil, Architectural and Building Services including E and M works for proposed underground Automatic People Mover (APM) system at New Delhi Central Vista on 1st November 2022.
Tender notice for ebgagement of detailed design contract was issued in May 2022 with an estimated cost of work Rs 8.07 crore and 2880 days completion deadline. Technical bids were opened in August where the following four bidders were submitted their bids for this contract. Finnacial bids were opened in October 2022.
In February 2022, the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) had appointed Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to prepare detailed project report (DPR) for the proposed 3.08 km Automated People Mover (underground metro loop) for the under construction Central Vista project of Govt. of India. An MoU was signed between CPWD and DMRC on 28th February 2022.
The four stations likely to be build at or near the vicinity of Central Secretariat, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), Vigyan Bhavan Annexe and Ministry Of External Affairs Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan and will be integrated with the Yellow Line of Delhi Metro Rail Network.
An automated people mover (APM) is a type of small-scale automated guideway transit system.
According to DMRC, the APM is a metro loop corridor, about three kilometres in length, connecting four Common Central Secretariat stations with the existing Central Secretariat Metro station is being proposed to cater to the office goers who shall travel to these offices using the Metro. Planning is being done expecting a peak hour demand of 20,000 passengers per hour during the morning and evening peak hours. The entire corridor shall be underground.
