Dr. Chander Shekhar Khare appointed as MD of HMRTC and Gurugram Metro Rail Ltd

Gurugram, India (Metro Rail Today): The Haryana Government has appointed Dr. Chander Shekhar Khare, a 2008-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, as the Managing Director of Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Ltd. and Gurugram Metro Rail Ltd. against vacant posts.

With over 15 years of distinguished service in the IAS, Dr. Khare has a robust background in public policy, management, and infrastructure development, having contributed significantly to the governance and public administration landscape of Haryana.

Throughout his career, Dr. Khare has held various pivotal roles in the Haryana government, including Special Secretary and Director of the Science & Technology Department and the Human Resources Department. His expertise in data analysis, public policy, and program evaluation has been honed through rigorous training and practical experience. He recently completed a Master of Development Practice at the University of California, Berkeley, where he was a Joint Japan World Bank Scholar, focusing on development economics, energy, and sustainable development. This advanced education has equipped him with cutting-edge skills in data analysis, data visualization, and sustainable development, further enhancing his ability to lead complex projects and initiatives.

Dr. Khare's extensive on-the-ground experience as an Additional Commissioner in Rohtak underscores his commitment to public service and effective governance. His current roles in managing Haryana's mass rapid transport projects reflect his strategic vision and dedication to improving urban transportation infrastructure, positioning Haryana at the forefront of sustainable and efficient public transport systems.
