The appointed design consultants will be responsible for creating and proposing alternative designs for all civil, architectural, building services, electrical, and mechanical works associated with these stations.
MahaMetro invited bids for the DDC-03 package in July 2023, with a contract duration of four years and an estimated budget of around ₹2.36 crore. Technical bids were opened at the end of August, revealing three bidders, and the evaluation process concluded on Monday.
Qualified Bidders:
- SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India)
- STUP – RITES JV
However, LKT Engineering – FP Project Management JV has been disqualified.
Details of the New Stations
The extensions will feature the following stations:
Vanaz – Chandni Chowk Extension (2 stations): Kothrud Bus Depot, Chandni Chowk
Ramwadi – Wagholi Extension (11 stations): Viman Nagar, Somnath Nagar, Kharadi Bypass, Tulaja Bhavani, Ubale Nagar, Upper Kharadi Road, Wagheswar Temple, Wagholi, Siddharth Nagar, Bakori Phata and Vitthalwadi.
All 13 stations have been mapped out for future reference, and adjustments to their locations will be made as satellite imagery becomes available in 2026.
This contract marks the third and final design consultancy award for Pune Metro’s Phase 1 Extension project. Other contracts include:
- DDC-01: Design for three elevated stations at Chinchwad, Akurdi, and Nigdi, awarded to LKT Engineering.
- DDC-02R: Design for architectural and E&M services and proof checking for the Swargate to Katraj corridor, awarded to PINI Group.
With these developments, Pune Metro continues to expand its network, enhancing connectivity and public transport options for the city’s residents.
