Pune, India (Metro Rail Today): On October 8, 2024, SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India) and the STUP – RITES joint venture were announced as the qualified bidders for the Detailed Design Consultant (DDC-03) contract for the Pune Metro’s Phase 1 Extension (Phase 1A) project. This significant development paves the way for the design of 13 new elevated stations along the Aqua Line (Line-2) of Pune Metro.
The DDC-03 package will encompass the design of two stations on the western extension (Line-2A) between Vanaz and Chandni Chowk, along with eleven stations on the eastern extension (Line-2B) from Ramwadi to Wagholi. The Maharashtra state government approved the construction of these extensions in March 2024, with a projected budget of ₹3,756.58 crore.
