MMRDA floated tender for construction of Kasheli depot for Mumbai Metro Line 5

Mumbai, India (Metro Rail Today): The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has issued tender notice for the construction of a metro carshed for feeding trains for Mumbai Metro's upcoming Line 5 under contract package MMRDA/MPIU/M5/CA-151.

The scope of work includes costruction of depot infrastructure comprising stabling yard, depot control centre and administrative building, train maintennace and workshop building, auxiliary substation, finishing, plumbing, earthworks for land development, compound wall, road, approach bridge and underground utility duct works, drainage, rainwater harvesting, staff quarters etc. Complete including architectural finishing works and PEB works for Car Depot at Kasheli for Line 5 of Mumbai Metro Rail Project.

The estimated cost of work is Rs 472.02 crores and the bid documents can be downloaded from 21st October 2022 to 12th December 2022 on payment of Rs 5,900 towards cost of tender document. Bidder has to depot earnest money of Rs 2,36,01,160 while submitting the bid documents. The estimated period to complete the work is 36 months (3 years) from the date of issuance of letter of acceptance to the contractor.

The last date to submit tender document is 12th December 2022 till 17.00 hrs.

The Line 5 of the Mumbai Metro (Orange) also known as Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan Line metro corridor is part of the under contriction metro rail system in Mumbai. This line construction is divided into two phases. Phase 1 will cover the metro route from Thane to Bhiwandi, and Phase 2 will cover the other stretch from Bhiwandi to Kalyan. A total of 17 metro stations will be built on this corridor.

The 24.90 km long Mumbai Metro Line 5 will connect Kapurbawdi to Kalyan APMC with 17 metro stations at Kapurbawdi, Balkum Naka, Kasheli, Kalher, Purna, Anjur Phata, Dhamankar Naka, Bhiwandi, Gopal Nagar, Temghar, Rajnouli Village, Govegaon MIDC, Kongaon, Durgadi Fort, Sahajanand Chowk, Kalyan Railway Station and Kalyan APMC.

The 20.75 km long proposed Mumbai Metro Line 12 will be future extention of this line.
