Texmaco wins ₹253 crore track work contract for Indore Metro Rail project

Bhopal, India (Metro Rail Today):  The Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) on 22nd October 2022 opened the financial bids for the contract package IN-08 for the supply of standard gauge Ballastless Track for Indore Metro's Yellow Line.

As per the financial bid results, Texmaco Rail and Engineering Ltd. emerged as the lowest bidder among the other four bidders. The financial position of each bidder is as under:-

• Texmaco Rail and Engineering Ltd: Rs 252.88 crore (L1)
• Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T): Rs 262.32 crore (L2)

However, the other two bidders - Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) and Vijay Nirman Company Pvt. Ltd. did not qualify for the tender terms and eligibility criteria. Hence, their bids were not opened.

The scope of work includes the Design, Supply, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of the Ballastless Track of Standard Gauge for the Yellow Line (Gandhinagar - Bawarshala - Bengali Square and Underground from Indore Railway Station to Airport Station) along with Ballasted/Ballastless Track at Depot of Indore Metro Rail Project.

The tender notice for the above works was issued in February 2022 with an estimated value of Rs 2.38 crore (Rs 2,38,69,00,000) and work completion period of 1274 days. Technical bids were opened in July 2022.

The 33.53 km long Yellow Line will make a ring line to connect Palasia – Railway Station – Rajwara- Airport – Bhawarsala – MR10 – Palasia with 30 stations at Bhawarsala Square, MR 10 Road, ISBT / MR 10 Flyover, Chandragupta Square, Hira Nagar, Bapat Square, Meghdoot Garden, Vijay Nagar Square, Radisson Square, Mumtaj Bag Colony, Bengali Square, Patrakar Colony, Palasia Square, High Court / Hotel Residency, Indore Railway Station, Rajwada Palace, Maulana Azad Marg, Bada Ganpati, Ramchandra Nagar Square, Kalani Nagar, BSF, Airport, Gandhi Nagar Nanod, Super Corridor 6, Super Corridor 5, Super Corridor 4, Super Corridor 3, Super Corridor 2 and Super Corridor 1. The depot will be built at Gandhi Nagar.
