Three firms bid for telecommunications contract of Chennai Metro Phase 2

Chennai, India (Metro Rail Today): Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has received three bids for the contract package ASA-07 for the supply of telecommunication radio systems for Corridor 3 & 5 of the Chennai Metro Rail Project, Phase 2.

Tender notice for the Design, Manufacture, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Telecommunication Radio systems was issued in October 2021. Technical bids were opened last week.

As per the information revealed by the CMRL, the following firms have submitted their bids for the above contract package ASA-07:-

  • HFCL Ltd.
  • Consort Digital Pvt. Ltd.
  • Vedavaag Systems Ltd.

All bids now have been sent for technical evaluation. Once the evaluation is completed, CMRL will open the financial bids to reveal the name of the lowest bidder.

The under-construction 45.813 km metro corridor 3 of Chennai Metro will connect Madhavaram to SIPCOT and 47-km metro corridor 5 will connect Madhavaram to Sholinganallur with a mix of elevated & underground stations. Both lines are part of the proposed 118.9-km network of Phase 2.
