Two firms bid for Signalling contract of Corridor 3 of Chennai Metro Rail Project

Chennai, India (Metro Rail Today): Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has received two bids against the tender notice floated for Signalling, Train Control and Video Management systems for 45.81km Corridor 3 of Chennai Metro Rail Project Phase 2.

CMRL on April 29, 2022, opened the technical bids for the contract package ASA04 of Corridor 3 connecting Madhavaram – SIPCOT 2 under Phase 2 of the Chennai Metro Rail Project. As per the information shared, CMRL has received only two bids from Nippon Signal Co. Ltd. and Hitachi Rail STS India Pvt. Ltd.

Tender notice for the contract package ASA04 was invited in in August 2021 with a 1640-day work completion deadline. 

The scope of work includes Design, Manufacture, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Signalling and Train Control System and Video Management System for Corridor 3 of Chennai Metro's Phase 2.

This contract package will also be funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) by an ODA loan agreement of Rs 4,710 crores signed between JICA and Govt. of India on March 31, 2022.

Now all bids have been sent for final evaluation by the tender committee formed by CMRL.
