10 firms bid for civil contract package C3 of Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2 Project

Ahmedabad, India (Metro Rail Today): The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRC) has received a total of ten (10) bids against the civil work contract package C3 for the construction of a 7.553 km elevated stretch between Sector-1 and Mahatma Mandir of the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project, Phase 2.

As per the information shared, the following ten construction firms/consortia have shown their interest to construct the above stretch of 28.254 km long North-South Metro Corridor of Ahmedabad Metro.

  • Afcons Infrastructure Ltd.
  • JMC Projects (India) Ltd.
  • Dilip Buildcon Ltd.
  • Ranjit Buildcon Ltd.
  • YFC Projects – MCL JV
  • KEC International – CVCC JV
  • Kalthia – Ashoka Buildcon Ltd JV
  • RVNL – Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon JV

Tender notice for the construction of this stretch of Corridor 1 Extension of Ahmedabad Metro under contract package C3 was issued in February 2022, with an estimated work value of Rs 610 crores. Technical bids were opened on May 9, 2022.

The scope of work includes the construction of a 7.553 km elevated viaduct and 7 nos. of stations (incl. E&M, Architectural Finishing, Roofing, Plumbing, Signage, etc.) from Sector-1 to Mahatma Mandir (ch. 31945.443m to 39498.302m, Package C3) in connection with Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project, Phase-2. This section will consist of seven elevated metro stations at Sachivalaya, Akshardham, Juna Sachivalaya, Sector-16, Sector-24 and Mahatma Mandir.

Now all bids have been sent for the technical evaluation and once the technical evaluation is completed GMRC will open the Financial Bids for this contract package.

This contract package will likely to be funded by Agence Française de Développement (AFD).
