18 Metro Stations planned along Gurugram–Faridabad Namo Bharat RRTS Corridor

New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): In a major step toward strengthening regional connectivity across the National Capital Region (NCR), the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) has proposed the construction of 18 metro stations along the upcoming Namo Bharat corridor connecting Gurugram, Faridabad and Greater Noida. The proposed high-speed corridor will feature both Metro and Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) services operating on the same infrastructure, creating an integrated regional mobility network.

The 64-kilometre corridor, which has already received alignment approval from the Haryana government, will pass through both Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Of the total route length, approximately 52 kilometres will lie within Haryana, while the remaining 12 kilometres will extend into Uttar Pradesh toward Noida and Greater Noida.

Integrated Metro and RRTS Network

Officials said the proposal includes eight metro stations in Gurugram and ten stations in Faridabad, designed to complement the high-speed Namo Bharat services along the corridor. The integration of metro services with RRTS infrastructure is expected to provide seamless urban and regional connectivity across major NCR growth centers.

The Gurugram section will cover around 14.5 kilometres, extending from Iffco Chowk to Gwal Pahari. An important interchange station is planned at Iffco Chowk, enabling connectivity between the proposed Namo Bharat line and another planned corridor linking Delhi, Gurugram and Shahjahanpur.

Along the Gurugram stretch, metro stations are proposed at Sector 29, Millennium City Centre, Sector 52, Wazirabad, and Sector 57, with an additional interchange station at Sector 61. This interchange will also integrate with a proposed metro line connecting Sector 56 to Pachgaon.

The corridor will further integrate with the Rapid Metro network through a station proposed along the main road between Sector 58 and Sector 61. The final station in the Gurugram segment will be located at Gwal Pahari village on the Gurugram–Faridabad Road.

Commenting on the development, Mrs. Mamta Shah, MD & CEO, Urban Infra Group, said, “Integrated regional transit corridors like the Gurugram–Faridabad–Greater Noida Namo Bharat line will play a transformative role in shaping sustainable mobility in the NCR. The combination of metro and high-speed regional rail on shared infrastructure is a progressive model that can significantly reduce travel times while supporting balanced urban development.”

Faridabad Section to Strengthen Connectivity

After crossing Gwal Pahari, the corridor will enter Faridabad, where metro services will run along the Namo Bharat alignment for nearly 16 kilometres from Sainik Colony to Badshahpur.

The first metro station in Faridabad is planned at Sainik Colony, followed by stations at NIT-3 and NIT-1. A key interchange will be developed at Bata Chowk, connecting the corridor with the Delhi Metro’s Violet Line, providing direct access to Delhi and other parts of the NCR.

Further stations are proposed near the Sector 12–15 intersection, Sector 80, the main roads of Sectors 81–82 and 85–86, as well as Sectors 88–89, where both Namo Bharat and Metro services will be available. The final metro station in Haryana will be located at Badshahpur, after which the Namo Bharat line will continue toward Noida and Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh.

High-Speed Mobility with Urban Integration

The Namo Bharat trains operating on the corridor are expected to run at average speeds between 160 kmph and 180 kmph, significantly reducing travel times between major NCR cities. To address environmental concerns in densely populated areas, HMRTC has proposed installing noise barrier systems along sections passing through residential zones.

The proposed alignment and station planning were discussed in a high-level meeting held on February 24 under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, where officials were directed to incorporate the metro station proposals into the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the Namo Bharat corridor.

Transforming NCR Regional Mobility

The Gurugram–Faridabad–Greater Noida corridor is expected to become a key component of the expanding Namo Bharat regional rapid transit network, which aims to connect major urban centers around Delhi with high-speed, high-capacity rail services.

Once implemented, the project will significantly enhance connectivity between Gurugram’s business hubs, Faridabad’s industrial zones, and emerging urban centers in Noida and Greater Noida, strengthening the overall mobility ecosystem of the National Capital Region.
