Noida, India (Metro Rail Today): In a key advancement for Noida’s fast-growing metro network, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRCL) has declared Ayesa India Private Limited as the lowest bidder (L1) for the Detail Design Consultant (DDC) contract for the ambitious Aqua Line extension project.
The consultancy package covers Civil, Architectural, E&M and Traction system design for multiple elevated stretches of the proposed 31.595 km expansion across Noida and Greater Noida.
NMRCL had invited bids earlier this year with a project duration of 1,825 days. The tender saw participation from three major engineering and consulting firms. Technical bids were opened on October 3, followed by detailed evaluation. On December 5, the financial bids were opened, confirming Ayesa India as the lowest bidder.
| Firm | Bid Value |
|---|---|
| Ayesa India Pvt. Ltd. | ₹17.1 crore (L1) |
| Aecom India Pvt. Ltd. | ₹19.5 crore (L2) |
| Systra MVA Consulting (India) Pvt. Ltd. | ₹24.2 crore (L3) |
The competitive bid position strengthens Ayesa India’s prospects for securing the contract, pending final approval by NMRCL.
The DDC assignment covers the full spectrum of design services for elevated sections of three Aqua Line extension arms:
Noida Sector-51 to Knowledge Park-V
Noida Sector-142 to Botanical Garden
Depot Station to Boraki, including augmentation of the existing depot and Reinforcement Sub Station (RSS) works
Total covered length: 31.595 km
The consultant will prepare detailed designs for:
Civil structures (viaducts, stations, depot modifications)
Architectural elements
E&M systems
Traction and power supply systems
Sharing her insights on the development, Mrs. Mamta Shah, MD & CEO, Urban Infra Group, said: “The selection of the lowest bidder for the Aqua Line extension’s DDC works marks a major strategic step for Noida Metro. Once implemented, these extensions will vastly improve regional mobility across Noida and Greater Noida. High-quality design consultancy at this stage is essential to ensure safety, reliability and long-term operational efficiency.”
Currently, the Noida Metro’s Aqua Line spans 29.707 km, connecting Noida Sector-51 to the depot in Greater Noida. The planned extension will significantly enhance regional connectivity by linking major residential hubs, IT clusters, educational districts and institutional zones.
The three expansion corridors are expected to offer smoother multimodal interchange—particularly with Delhi Metro’s Blue and Magenta Lines—while reducing road congestion in some of NCR’s most densely developing sectors.
