New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): In a groundbreaking move towards enhancing the convenience of commuters, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has seamlessly integrated its ticketing services into the 'One Delhi' mobile application. This strategic initiative is aimed at providing travelers with a unified platform for planning and executing seamless journeys that effortlessly combine both the Delhi Metro and city bus services.
The DMRC, committed to prioritizing the 'ease of booking' tickets, has taken a digital leap by incorporating its ticketing services into the 'One Delhi' mobile app. This integration allows commuters to plan uninterrupted journeys that seamlessly integrate both the Metro and Delhi's city bus services.
The facility was inaugurated at Metro Bhawan in the presence of key figures, including Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, DMRC; Shri Ashish Kundra, IAS, Transport Commissioner, Govt. of NCTD, and Sh. Pravesh Biyani, Head, Centre for Mobility, IIIT-D. The collaboration with IIIT-D (Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi) has transformed the 'One Delhi' app into a comprehensive platform for streamlined travel arrangements, now encompassing QR tickets for Delhi Metro alongside those for DTC buses.
Currently, the 'One Delhi' app is utilized for generating QR tickets for DTC buses, boasting around 1.5 lakh daily ticket sales with approximately 3.0 lakh active users. With the integration of QR tickets for both Metro and DTC buses, the app becomes a one-stop solution for commuters, facilitating the booking of Delhi Metro and Bus tickets through a single interface.
This strategic partnership between DMRC and 'One Delhi' app is set to redefine commuting on the Delhi Metro, offering passengers a comprehensive solution for their transportation needs. Beyond ticketing, the app introduces integrated trip planning for buses and metros. By simply inputting the starting point and destination, users can generate a comprehensive itinerary that seamlessly combines both modes of transportation.
The inclusion of DMRC's ticketing services within the 'One Delhi' app signifies a significant milestone in Delhi's journey towards a more interconnected and efficient urban transport system. This move reflects the city's commitment to embracing technological advancements that enhance the overall travel experience for its residents and visitors alike.
The integration of DMRC's ticketing services into the 'One Delhi' app is a game-changer in Delhi's transportation landscape. This collaborative effort between the DMRC and IIIT-D not only streamlines ticketing processes but also presents commuters with an all-encompassing solution for planning multi-modal journeys. As Delhi takes strides towards a more interconnected urban transport system, the 'One Delhi' app stands as a testament to the city's commitment to providing a seamless and user-friendly commuting experience.
