Four firms bid for E&M contract of Nagpur Metro Phase 2 Project

Nagpur, India (Metro Rail Today): In a recent development marking a crucial phase of the Nagpur Metro Phase 2 project, four prominent firms have thrown their hats into the ring for the Electrical & Mechanical Contract E&M-02. This contract, covering 43.8 kilometers of the ambitious Nagpur Metro expansion, has attracted bids from reputable companies vying for a pivotal role in shaping the city's futuristic transportation landscape.

The comprehensive scope of Package E&M-02 encompasses intricate work at 12 elevated stations falling under Aqua Line’s Reach 2, spanning from Automotive Square to Kanhan in eastern Nagpur. Additionally, the contract involves substantial tasks at two depots, indicating a potential expansion within the existing depots established during Phase 1 at MIHAN and Hinga.

A dozen stations identified within this package include Pili Nadi, Khasara Fata, All India Radio, Kheri Fata, Lok Vihar, Lekha Nagar, Cantonment, Kamptee Police Station, Kamptee Municipal Council, Dragon Palace, Golf Club, and Kanhan.

The bidding saga commenced in July under Package E&M-01, but unforeseen circumstances led to its cancellation. Undeterred, Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (Maha-Metro) reinvigorated the process in November 2023, setting the stage for a competitive bidding environment with an estimated cost of Rs. 70.07 crore and a deadline of 900 days.

The contenders vying for this pivotal contract are:

1. Colossus Infra Projects Pvt. Ltd.
2. Jakson Ltd.
3. Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd.
4. Univastu India Ltd.

Maha-Metro, the driving force behind this transformative project, has laid out the intricate scope for the selected entity. The tasks involve the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) works at the identified 12 stations in Reach 2 Extension and the two depots, all integral parts of Nagpur Metro Rail Project Phase 2.
