The upcoming Partapur Metro station in Meerut is set to stand out with its unique design featuring two platforms and four railway tracks. This distinctive layout is tailored to accommodate Meerut Metro trains on the side platforms, while the central tracks will facilitate the passage of the Namo Bharat Train.
Spanning approximately 75 meters in length, with a width of around 36 meters and a towering height of about 22 meters, the elevated Partapur station is nearing completion. With preparations underway for passenger services, the station is equipped with two entry-exit gates currently under construction. Additionally, lifts and escalators are being installed to ensure accessibility for all commuters.
To further enhance convenience, parking facilities will be available near the entry and exit gates, accompanied by the construction of service lanes to facilitate smooth traffic flow around the station area. The station is structured across three levels: ground, concourse, and platform, with flooring work nearing completion and technical rooms already prepared. Equipment installation is ongoing, alongside efforts to install the pre-fabricated station roof.
The commencement of metro train operations from Partapur will significantly improve connectivity for residents in neighboring areas. For instance, passengers traveling from Partapur to Delhi can seamlessly catch the NaMo Bharat train from Meerut South. As Meerut transforms into a bustling hub, residents will enjoy convenient access to the metropolitan areas of Delhi and Ghaziabad.
The arrival of the first trainset of the Meerut Metro from Savli, Gujarat, to the Duhai Depot marks a significant milestone. Routine testing is underway, paving the way for the imminent trial run. Notably, the shared infrastructure will facilitate integrated operations of both Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro services, promising efficient transportation for commuters.
The Meerut Metro will operate on a 23-kilometer section from Meerut South to Modipuram Depot, encompassing 13 stations. These stations include Meerut South, Partapur, Rithani, Shatabdi Nagar, Brahmpuri, Meerut Central, Bhainsali, Begumpul, MES Colony, Daurli, Meerut North, Modipuram, and Modipuram Depot. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) aims to commence operations of the Namo Bharat RRTS and Meerut Metro between Delhi and Meerut by June 2025.
