Kalpataru Power wins ₹568 crore Electrification contract for Indore Metro project

Bhopal, India (Metro Rail Today): Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) on May 18, 2022, opened the financial bids for contract package IN-09 for 750V DC third line electrification & power supply systems for Indore Metro Rail Project.

As per the information shared, Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd emerged as the lowest bidder among the other six bidders. A total of seven bidders had submitted their bids for Engineering, Supply, Erection, Testing and Commissioning of Power Supply Receiving Sub–Station (RSS), Traction Sub-Station (TSS), Auxiliary Sub-Station (ASS), 750 V DC 3rd Rail and SCADA System for Indore Metro Rail Project.

Tender notice for this contract package was issued in November 2021 with an estimated amount of Rs 516 crore and 1278 days completion period. Technical bids were opened in March 2022.

The financial position of each bidder is as under:-

  • Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd: Rs 568.31 crores (L1)
  • Sterling and Wilson Ltd: Rs 601.48 crores (L2)
  • Siemens Ltd: Rs 609.47 crores (L3)
  • Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (L&T): Rs 646.09 crores (L4)
  • Linxon India Ltd: Rs 648.51 crores (L5)
  • KEC International Ltd: Rs 677.34 crores (L6)
  • Alstom Transport India Ltd: Rs 788.75 crores (L7)

Now all bids have been sent for final evaluation by the tender committee.

The under-construction metro line (Yellow line) of about 33.5 km is a ring line planned from Gandhi Nagar – Bhawarsala- Radisson Square – Bengali Square – Indore Railway Station – Rajwada Palace to Airport.
