Kochi Metro to open SN Junction - Tripunithura Section soon

Kochi, India (Metro Rail Today): In a significant development for Kochi's public transportation, the Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) is on the verge of completing the Phase I-B extension line from SN Junction to Tripunithura. The KMRL authorities have reported that the preparations are in their final stages, and the line is expected to be commissioned soon, pending the final safety nod from the chief metro rail safety commissioner.

The two-day-long safety inspection, a crucial step in the process, covered a comprehensive assessment of various aspects, including facilities, systems, signaling, and tracks. The Tripunithura station, spanning an impressive 1.35 lakh sq ft, allocates 40,000 sq ft for non-ticket revenue generation projects.
