New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has officially initiated the process to engage a General Consultant (GC) for the Delhi–Gurugram–Shahjahanpur–Neemrana–Behror (SNB) Namo Bharat corridor, marking another major step toward expanding India’s high-speed regional rail network.
According to the tender notice, NCRTC has scheduled a pre-bid meeting on October 24, 2025, while the submission window will open on November 4 and close on November 11, 2025, at 3:00 PM.
The Delhi–Gurugram–SNB–Alwar corridor is a flagship Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project being developed by NCRTC to connect Delhi, Gurugram, and Alwar through a high-speed, sustainable commuter network. The corridor forms a vital part of the Delhi–Alwar RRTS, which aims to reduce travel time, decongest highways, and promote balanced regional development across the National Capital Region (NCR).
Total Length: ~164 km (including a 35 km spur from SNB to Sotanala)
Phased Implementation: Three stages
Phase 1: Delhi–SNB (Sarai Kale Khan to Shahjahanpur–Neemrana–Behror)
Phase 2: SNB–Sotanala (industrial zone extension)
Phase 3: Sotanala–Alwar
The corridor will feature a combination of elevated and underground sections and connect key transit and commercial hubs such as Sarai Kale Khan, Aerocity, Munirka, Gurugram, Manesar, and Rewari.
Pre-construction activities for the Delhi–SNB stretch have already been completed, and alignment refinements are under discussion to improve urban integration. NCRTC previously explored an alternative Cyber City–IFFCO Chowk alignment to optimize connectivity within Gurugram.
While the project encountered administrative and funding delays, particularly regarding the Delhi government’s financial contribution, progress resumed after the Supreme Court directive in December 2023, following which the Delhi government released its share for the Alwar and Panipat RRTS corridors.
Both Haryana and Rajasthan governments have since approved the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), paving the way for final-stage tendering and project execution.
Once operational, the Delhi–Gurugram–SNB–Alwar Namo Bharat corridor will:
“The Delhi–SNB Namo Bharat corridor will be a game-changer for regional mobility—integrating major urban and industrial nodes into a seamless, high-speed network that supports the NCR’s growth and sustainability goals,” an NCRTC official said.
With the General Consultant engagement process now underway, the Delhi–Gurugram–SNB corridor moves a step closer to realization. The project’s successful execution will strengthen regional connectivity, enhance commuter convenience, and advance the Government of India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision by building world-class, high-speed public transport infrastructure.
