New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): RailTel, a key player in India's railway infrastructure, has recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Quadrant Future Tek Limited, marking a significant step towards the exploration and delivery of KAVACH (Train Collision Avoidance System) implementation projects for Indian Railways and railways abroad.
The MoU outlines a framework for Quadrant to collaborate exclusively with RailTel on executing targeted opportunities related to the KAVACH system. KAVACH, developed indigenously by Indian Railways, stands as an Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system of high technological complexity, necessitating the highest safety certifications.
Adopted as the National ATP system by the Ministry of Railways in July 2020, KAVACH holds a pivotal role in enhancing safety measures across Indian Railway networks. Its implementation remains a top priority for Indian Railways, reflecting the commitment to bolstering railway safety standards.
Quadrant Future Tek Limited, currently undergoing the final approval process by the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the KAVACH project, brings significant expertise to the table. Meanwhile, RailTel boasts an in-house team of experts in Railway Signaling systems, fully equipped to undertake extensive upgrade projects like KAVACH.
With both parties combining their individual strengths and expertise, RailTel and Quadrant Future Tek Limited are poised to aggressively explore opportunities within the KAVACH project ambit. This partnership not only signifies a shared commitment to advancing railway safety but also underscores the potential for technological innovation in India's railway infrastructure.
The collaboration between RailTel and Quadrant Future Tek Limited heralds a new chapter in the quest for enhanced safety and efficiency within Indian Railways. Through the concerted efforts of both entities, the implementation of KAVACH holds the promise of revolutionizing railway safety standards, thereby ensuring a safer and more reliable journey for passengers and freight alike.
