Nagpur, India (Metro Rail Today): The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha Metro) has awarded a civil contract worth Rs 394.89 crore to Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) for the construction of 6.92 kilometres elevated viaduct for Phase 2 of Nagpur Metro Rail Project on 23rd June 2023.
"It is hereby informed that Rail Vikas Nigam Limited) emerges as the Lowest Bidder (L1) from Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) for 'Design and Construction of Elevated Metro Viaduct of length 6.92 km between Ch. (-) 657.182 m to Ch. (-) 7576.78 m in Reach 2A of NMRP Phase-2.' The cost of project is Rs. 394,89,84,782/-," said RVNL in a regulatory filing.
This is Package C-1 of Reach 2A of Nagpur Metro's Phase 2. The 13 km long elevated Reach 2A will extend Nagpur Metro’s 19.658 km Orange Line, built in Phase 1, north-eastward from Automotive Square to Kanhan River via 12 elevated stations.
Tender notice for this contract package was issued in February 2023 and technical bids were opened in April 2023.
The RVNL has to complete this project within 30 months.
