New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): In a significant development for the Delhi Metro Phase-4 project, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) to Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) for the construction of a viaduct and platform structures on the Golden Line Extension between Lajpat Nagar and Saket G Block.
The contract has been awarded under Package D2C-02 and involves critical civil infrastructure work to support the 8.385 km extension of the Golden Line — a key corridor of the Delhi Metro Phase-4 network.
Contract Value: ₹447.42 crore
Completion Period: 1095 days (36 months)
Client: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC)
Executing Agency: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL)
Under this contract, RVNL will undertake the part design and construction of a 7.298 km elevated viaduct from Chainage 1202.782 m to Chainage 8501.25 m, along with platform structures at 7 metro stations, namely Pushp Vihar, Saket District Court, Pushpa Bhawan, Chirag Delhi, Greater Kailash-1 (GK-1), Andrews Ganj and Lajpat Nagar. The scope also includes the installation of pre-engineered building structures at all station platforms.
DMRC had floated the tender for this package with a completion deadline of three years. On April 25, 2025, technical bids were opened with five firms participating. After technical evaluation on July 2, three bidders were shortlisted for financial opening, during which RVNL emerged as the lowest bidder, securing the contract.
The Golden Line (also known as the Aerocity–Tughlakabad corridor) is a 23.62 km corridor being implemented under Delhi Metro Phase-4. The awarded extension between Lajpat Nagar and Saket G Block is seen as a critical link to enhance east-west connectivity in South Delhi, connecting residential, institutional, and commercial hubs.
Once completed, this corridor will improve last-mile connectivity and reduce traffic congestion on some of the busiest roads in the city.
