RVNL signs ₹1,134 crore civil contract for Chennai Metro Phase 2

Chennai, India (Metro Rail Today): The Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has signed a contract agreement with the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) for Contract Package C3-ECV-01 on 27th April 2023 in Chennai. The contract is part of ADB funding for Chennai Metro Phase-2 under Loan Agreement No. 4273.

The Scope of the contract involves Construction of Elevated Viaduct (Approximate Length of 10 Km), Nine (9) Elevated Metro Stations at Sholinganallur Lake-I, Sri Ponniamman Temple (Sholinganallur Lake-II), Sathyabama University (Semmeancheri-I), Semmeancheri-ll, Gandhi Nagar, Navallur, Siruseri, Siruseri
SIPCOT-1 and Siruseri SIPCOT-2 and Stabling Viaduct at SIPCOT.

CMRL issued Letter of Acceptance to  Rail Vikas Nigam Limited on 10th January 2023 for an amount of Rs 11,34,11,42,182.00 (including Provisional Sum and GST).

The Contract Agreement is signed by T. Archunan, Director (Projects) on behalf of CMRL and Chaudhary Rajneesh Kumar Singh, Sr.DGM/Electrical/BD on behalf of RVNL.

The 45.81 kilometres long Corridor 3 of Chennai Metro will connect Madhavaram Milk Colony to Siruseri Sipcot 2 with 47 stations. Out of, 19.09 km section will be elevated and 26.72 km will be underground.
