Kolkata, India (Metro Rail Today): The Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has recently opened financial bids of two underground contract packages for 3.6-km extension of 6.87 km Corridor 4 (Bimanbandar to New Barrackpore) of Kolkata Metro Rail Project.
As per information shared by RVNL, Senbo Engineering Ltd emerged as the lowest bidder in both packages (2 & 3) by beating ITD Cementation India Ltd and SAM India Builtwell Private Limited.
Scope of Work: Execution of civil engineering works for construction of 1.045 km underground RCC box tunnel including station building (Birati) using diaphragm wall H-pile plunge pile etc and allied works from Ch 8.795 to 9.840 km by cut & cover method (top down) for two tracks/multiple tracks in connection with extension of Corridor 4 of Kolkata Metro Railway from Noapara to Barasat via Bimanbandar in West Bengal, India.

The estimated value of this contract package was Rs 286.33 crores.
Scope of Work: Execution of civil engineering works for construction of 0.74 km underground RCC box tunnel including station building (New Barrackpore) using diaphragm wall h-pile plunge pile etc and allied works from Ch 9.840 to 10.580 km by cut & cover Method (top down) for two tracks/ multiple tracks in connection with extension of Corridor 4 of Kolkata Metro Railway from Noapara to Barasat via Bimanbandar in West Bengal, India.
Bidders & Financial Values
The estimated value of this contract package was Rs 222.58 crores.
Senbo Engineering is Kolkata-based construction firm that provides construction and engineering services for railway, road & bridge sectors.
Apart from this, ITD Cementation India Ltd has won Rs 47.36 crore Subway Contract package by bearting Snebo Engineering Ltd for execution of civil engineering works for construction of underground rcc box subway, dispersals (entry/ exit facility) and allied works to provide subway connectivity from underground Bimanbandar Station to Terminal Building of NSCBI, Airport (Airport Portion), including finishing, fire suppression & other allied works in connection with extension of Corridor 4 of Kolkata Metro Railway from Noapara to Barasat via Bimanbandar in West Bengal.
Now all bids have been sent for final evaluation. Once completed, RVNL will issue the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) to respective lowest and qualified bidders.
