Bengaluru, India (Metro Rail Today): The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) issued a civil tender for the construction of a metro car depot for the Airport Line (KR Puram-Hebbal-Kempegowda International Airport) of Bangalore Metro Rail Project Phase 2B.
The 37 km long Airport Line of Bangalore Metro is an under construction “airport-link” connecting KR Puram to Kempegowda International Airport (KIAL) in Devanahalli with 17 stations at Kasturinagara, Horamavu, HRBR Layout, Kalyan Nagar, HBR Layout, Nagawara, Veerannapalya, Kempapura, Hebbal, Kodigehalli, Jakkur Cross, Yelahanka, Bagalur Cross, Bettahalasuru, Doddajala, Airport City and KIAL Terminals.
This project is being funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB) through a US$500 million loan agreement signed between the Bank and the Government of India in December 2020. The Japanese funding institution Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will also provide financial assistance of US$318 million for the project and the loan agreement is already signed in March 2021.
