Lucknow, India (Metro Rail Today): Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (UPMRCL) has invited bids for the construction of a Depot-cum-Workshop for the East–West Corridor of the Lucknow Metro Rail Project, with an estimated contract value of ₹150.21 crore.
The proposed depot will be located at Vasant Kunj on Hardoi Road and will serve as a critical operational and maintenance hub for the upcoming East–West Metro Corridor. The tender marks a significant step forward in the implementation of Lucknow Metro Phase 1B.
The East–West Corridor of Lucknow Metro will span 11.098 km, running from Lucknow Railway Station to Vasant Kunj, and will include 12 metro stations. In May 2025, the Public Investment Board (PIB) approved the project under Phase 1B at an estimated cost of ₹5,801 crore.
The corridor is expected to significantly enhance east–west connectivity across the city, complementing the already operational North–South Corridor.
