New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): In a boost to ongoing expansion and upgrade works across the national capital’s metro network, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has awarded a ₹16.68 crore contract to Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited for track installation and commissioning across three key corridors — Line 11, Line 10 and Line 3.
Under the 12-month contract, Texmaco will undertake the installation, testing and commissioning of ballastless track systems including the supply of buffer stops for 2.2 track-kilometres on Line 11 at the Saket–G Metro Station, 3.3 track-kilometres on Line 10 at the Sarita Vihar Depot and 0.3 track-kilometres at Noida Electronic City on Line 3. The package forms part of DMRC’s efforts to enhance depot capacity, extend operational flexibility and strengthen track infrastructure at critical nodes of the expanding network.
Sudipta Mukherjee, Managing Director of Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited, said the project is another milestone in the company’s commitment to supporting India’s rail-based mobility ecosystem.
“This project is fully aligned with the national priorities of Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and we remain firmly focused on delivering reliable, high-precision rail solutions that support India’s long-term transportation vision,” he noted.
Texmaco is already executing a much larger 58 T-KM ballastless track package for DMRC under the Majlis Park–RK Ashram extension of the Phase IV corridor. The company has completed 22 T-KM of track laying to date, along with six scissor crossings, eight crossovers and five turnouts — demonstrating steady progress on one of Delhi Metro’s most critical expansion sections.
Commenting on the development, Mrs. Mamta Shah, MD & CEO of Urban Infra Group, said the award underscores DMRC’s continued focus on strengthening the backbone of its network through precision engineering.
“Every metro expansion depends on world-class track infrastructure, and Texmaco’s growing portfolio with DMRC reflects confidence in its technical capabilities. With Phase IV progressing at pace, such contracts are vital in ensuring Delhi’s metro system remains safe, reliable and future-ready,” she said.
The Delhi Metro currently operates a network of nearly 400 km across 10 corridors, with further expansion under Phase IV expected to take the total length to around 450 km by 2027.
