Two firms bid for ₹443 crore electrification contract of Mumbai Metro Line 2B

Mumbai, India (Metro Rail Today): The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has recently opened the technical bids of electrification contract package CA-40 of Line 2B for Mumbai Metro Rail Project. 

As per the information shared by the authority, only two bidders namely KEC International Ltd and Siemens Ltd have submitted their bids to supply 25kV OHE and associated systems for the Line 2B of Mumbai Metro.

The scope of workincludes design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing & commissioning of 2 nos. 110 KV RSS including 110 KV, 33kV, 25kV cabling work, complete 25kv OCS with SWS, 33kV aux power distribution system including 33/0.415 kV ASS and complete SCADA systems for main line and depot of Mumbai Metro Line 2B. 

Tender notice for this contract package was issued in November 2022 with an estimated cost of work of Rs 443.36 crore and 3 years completion deadline.

Now both bids have been sent for technical evaluation by MMRDA.

The 23.649 km long Line 2B (Yellow Line) of Mumbai Metro Rail Project will connect D.N. Nagar to Mandale via BKC with 22 elevated metro stations. This is an extension of 18.6 km Line 2A (Dahisar – DN Nagar) which is now fully operational.

The 22 elevated stations will be built at ESIC Nagar, Prem Nagar, Indira Nagar, Nanavati Hospital, Khira Nagar, Saraswat Nagar, National College, Bandra, MMRDA Office, Income Tax office (ITO), ILFS, MTNL Metro, SG Barve Marg, Kurla Terminal, Kurla (E), EEH, Chembur, Diamond Garden, Shivaji Chowk, BSNL, Mankhurd & Mandale
