Kanpur, India (Metro Rail Today): With the aim to make the Metro services on the 9 km long priority section from IIT-Kanpur to Motijheel more efficient and convenient for the commuters, Acting Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (UPMRC) Sushil Kumar today launched the official mobile app of Kanpur Metro.
In an event organized around 3:30 pm at Motijheel Metro station, the Managing Director presented the app to the Metro commuters and also explained all the features of the app. At the event, senior Metro officials presented a live demo of Metro ticket booking through the official mobile app. Named 'Kanpur Metro', this app is available on both 'Android' and 'iOS' platforms.
Congratulating all the Metro commuters on the occasion, Sushil Kumar, Acting managing Director, UPMRC said, “The world-class services of Kanpur Metro are getting constant support from the people of Kanpur. Along with saving time and money, this smart mobility system is also ensuring safety, security and comfort to the commuters. Today with the launch of the Kanpur Metro mobile app commuter’s travel experience will become more smooth, hassle-free and convenient. This informative app is developed in a way that it will acquaint commuters with the Metro system and provide requisite information related to Metro travel. We are also determined to bring GoSmart card in the coming days for Kanpur Metro commuters."
Important features of ‘Kanpur Metro’ mobile app:
Besides launching Mobile App, Sushil Kumar also performed Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of the second Receiving Sub Station (RSS) of Kanpur Metro at Phoolbagh around 11.30 am. Both the corridors of Kanpur Metro (IIT-Kanpur to Naubasta and Chandrashekhar Azad University to Barra-8) will have a total of two RSS for power supply for Metro operations. The first RSS is situated in Lakhanpur and supplies power for Metro operations on the priority section.
