The depot will serve Corridor-2 (Agra Cantt–Kalindi Vihar), which spans 15.40 km and includes 15 stations. The facility will play a critical role in train stabling, inspection, maintenance, and overall operational readiness of the corridor.
Agra Metro Phase 1 spans approximately 30 km and comprises two corridors:
Line 1: Sikandra – Taj East Gate (14.25 km, 14 stations)
Line 2: Agra Cantt – Kalindi Vihar (15.40 km, 15 stations)
Currently, the 5.2 km priority corridor of Line 1 between Taj East Gate and Mankameshwar is operational, providing connectivity to key tourist destinations including the Taj Mahal.
The development of the Mall Road depot marks a significant step toward advancing works on Corridor-2, which is expected to improve urban mobility in Agra, decongest arterial roads, and enhance last-mile connectivity for residents and visitors alike.
