Delhi Metro issues ₹1,373 crore Civil Tender for Rithala–Kundli Metro Corridor

New Delhi, India (Rail & Metro Today): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has invited bids for a major ₹1,373.36 crore civil construction package for the Rithala–Kundli corridor under Delhi Metro Phase IV, marking another significant step towards extending the Red Line into Haryana.

The D2C-05 contract covers the construction of elevated and at-grade viaducts, depot connectivity infrastructure, ramps, sidings and 11 metro stations along a 15.4-km section of the proposed corridor. The estimated contract value is inclusive of 18% GST, while the stipulated completion period is 36 months.

₹1,373 Crore Package Covers 11 Stations

Under the tender, the selected contractor will be responsible for the design and construction of elevated and at-grade viaducts, sidings, elevated ramps and the Entry/Exit Line connecting the corridor with the depot.

The civil works will cover the section between Chainage 11,299.093 metres and 26,704.685 metres.

The package includes civil construction for the following stations:

Narela Sector G-8, Narela Sector G-7, Narela Sector G-6, Narela Depot (at-grade), Narela Anaj Mandi, Narela Sector A-7, Narela Sector A-1, Narela Sector A-4, Narela Sector A-5, Kundli and Nathupur.

The scope excludes architectural finishes and Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) works.

Tender Timeline

DMRC has fixed a ₹1 crore tender security for the package. The pre-bid meeting is scheduled for August 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM.

The tender submission window will open on September 7, 2026, at 9:00 AM, with bids to be submitted by September 14, 2026, at 3:00 PM.

With a 36-month construction schedule, the package is expected to become a key component of the civil works programme for the Rithala–Kundli extension.

26.46-Km Rithala–Kundli Corridor

The Rithala–Narela–Nathupur (Kundli) corridor is one of the important projects being implemented under Delhi Metro Phase IV.

The Union Cabinet has approved the 26.463-km elevated corridor, with an estimated project cost of approximately ₹6,230 crore. The project is being implemented by DMRC through the existing 50:50 Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) between the Government of India and the Government of NCT of Delhi.

The corridor will extend the existing Delhi Metro Red Line from Rithala towards Narela and Nathupur (Kundli) and will comprise 21 stations.

Strengthening Delhi–Haryana Connectivity

The extension is expected to significantly improve public transport connectivity in North Delhi, Narela and the adjoining areas of Haryana, particularly Kundli and Nathupur.

The corridor will provide an important mass-transit connection for residential areas, industrial clusters and emerging urban developments along the Delhi–Haryana border. It is also expected to improve access to the wider Delhi Metro network by extending the Red Line further north.

The ₹1,373.36-crore D2C-05 package represents one of the major civil contracts for the corridor and signals the acceleration of construction-related procurement for the Rithala–Kundli Metro project.

Once completed, the corridor is expected to provide a faster and more reliable alternative to road-based travel between North Delhi and the rapidly developing areas around Narela, Kundli and Nathupur, while strengthening regional public transport integration between Delhi and Haryana.
