Ahmedabad, India (Metro Rail Today): The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRC) has opened the financial bids of civil contract package C3 for the construction of a 7.5 km stretch between Sector-1 and Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar for Phase 2 of Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project on 29th Sepetmber 2022.
As per the result of financial bids, Dilip Buildcon Ltd emerged as the lowest bidder among other four civil contractors. The financial positions of each bidder are as under:-
The scope of work includes design & construction of 7.553 kms elevated viaduct and 7 nos. of stations (incl. E&M, Architectural Finishing, Roofing, Plumbing, Signage, etc.) from Sector-1 to Mahatma Mandir (ch. 31945.443m to 39498.302m, Package C3) in connection with Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project, Phase-2. A total of seven metro stations will be built at Sachivalaya, Akshardham, Juna Sachivalaya, Sector-16, Sector-24 and Mahatma Mandir.
Tender notice for the above works was issued in February 2022 with an estimated cost of Rs 610 crore and 30 month deadline. Technical bids were opened in May 2022 where the names of total 10 bidders were revealed. Rest of five bidders/consortias - Afcons Infrastructure, URC Constructions, KEC – CVCC JV, RVNL – DRA Infracon JV and YFC – MCL JV - did not qualified.
Now all bids have been sent for final evaluation and there is chance of further negotiation with Dilip Buildcon Ltd while finalising the contract order. The lowest bidder Dilip Buildcon has quoted 18.59% higher amount than the cost of work estimated by GMRC.
This contract package is part of 28.254 km construction of Phase 2 corridor and will be financed by Agence Française de Développement (AFD).
