New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): In a major digital leap toward smarter and more connected public transport, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mappls MapmyIndia, one of India’s leading digital mapping and geospatial technology companies.
Under this collaboration, DMRC’s official API will be integrated into the Mappls App, allowing over 35 million users to access real-time metro information, including station locations, routes, fares, line interchanges, train frequencies, and travel durations—all in one place.
The initiative aligns with DMRC’s ongoing efforts to harness technology to enhance commuter convenience and promote sustainable mobility across the Delhi-NCR region.
Once fully integrated, commuters will be able to:
View nearest metro stations and their facilities
Check real-time train frequencies and schedules
Calculate fares and optimal routes
Identify interchange stations and travel times instantly
Access multi-modal connectivity options, including feeder buses and last-mile routes
The feature aims to make metro travel smarter, faster, and more seamless, eliminating the guesswork in trip planning and helping passengers save valuable time during daily commutes.
Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), said:
“Delhi Metro is committed to enhancing commuter convenience through innovation and technology. The integration of DMRC’s metro data with the Mappls app will make travel across NCR smarter and seamless — enabling commuters to plan better, navigate easily, and save time. This collaboration marks another step toward building a smarter, safer, and more connected public transport ecosystem.”
Mr. Rakesh Verma, Co-Founder, Managing Director & Group Chairman, MapmyIndia, added:
“Soon, DMRC data will be integrated into the multi-modal transport feature of the Mappls app, making travel across Delhi NCR faster, smarter, and seamless. This partnership reinforces our commitment to developing Swadeshi technology solutions that support the vision of an Aatmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat.”
Mrs. Mamta Shah, MD & CEO of Urban Infra Group, lauded the partnership, stating:
“This collaboration between DMRC and Mappls is a milestone in India’s journey toward intelligent urban mobility. By combining real-time data with user-friendly technology, commuters will experience a new level of transparency, reliability, and convenience — setting a model for metro systems nationwide.”
