J Kumar-AIC Infra JV bags ₹182.34 crore Airport Depot contract of Bangalore Metro Phase 2

Bengaluru, India (Metro Rail Today): The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) has awarded a civil contract worth Rs 182.33 crore to a joint venture of J Kumar Infraprojects – AIC Infrastructures Pvt Ltd for construction of Airport Depot at Doddajala for Phase 2B of Bangalore Metro Rail Project.

The letter of acceptance (LoA) has been issued with the contract value of Rs 182,33,99,706.00 on 20th March 2023 with a work completion deadline of 1.5 years.

The airport depot will feed metro trains for Bengaluru's new 57 km Airport Line (Phase 2B) along with ORR Line (Phase 2A) that will connect Central Silk Board – KR Puram – Bengaluru International Airport. This depot is also known as Doddajala Depot or Shettigere Depot.

Tender notice for the construction of Airport depot was issued in September 2022 with an estimated value of contract of Rs 204.68 crore and 548 days deadline.

This contract package will also financed by Asian Development Bank (ADB).

PADECO Co. Ltd – Ardanuy India Pvt Ltd JV have been appointed detailed design consultant (DDC) by BMRCL for providing design consultancy services for Airport depot.
