Mumbai, India (Metro Rail Today): J Kumar Infraprojects, a renowned player in the field of infrastructure development, has emerged as the sole bidder and secured a substantial contract worth ₹99.29 Crores from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). This contract, a testament to J Kumar Infraprojects' capabilities, will be pivotal in advancing the Mumbai Metro Line 2B, an essential component of the city's transportation network.
The scope of this significant contract includes various crucial elements. J Kumar Infraprojects will be responsible for the design, supply, fabrication, and erection of the pre-engineering building. Structural steel works will be executed with precision, and meticulous attention will be given to internal and external architectural finishings. Furthermore, the project includes plumbing works and interior fit-outs, ensuring that every detail is finely crafted. The work on these components is planned for five strategically chosen stations: Diamond Garden, Shivaji Chowk, BSNL Metro, Mankhurd, and Mandale, all situated along the Metro Line 2B route.
The total value of this contract stands at ₹99,29,71,000, inclusive of all taxes except GST. This significant investment underscores Mumbai's commitment to expanding and enhancing its Metro network, a key component of the city's modern transportation infrastructure.
Metro Line 2B is a substantial project, encompassing a total length of 23.64 kilometers and featuring 20 stations along its route. Its primary objective is to offer residents and commuters seamless and convenient connectivity between the eastern and western suburban regions of Mumbai. It is anticipated that this enhanced connectivity will lead to a notable reduction in travel times, potentially by an impressive 50% to 75%.
