Pune, India (Metro Rail Today): Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha-Metro) has invited bids for the Detailed Design Consultancy (DDC) Services for Pune Metro Phase 2, marking another key step toward expanding the city’s metro network into fast-growing suburban corridors.
The consultancy contract covers the detailed design of elevated metro stations on two proposed corridors connecting Hadapsar with Loni Kalbhor and Saswad Road.

Length: 11.352 km
Stations: 10 elevated stations
Line 4C: Hadapsar – Saswad Road
Length: 5.573 km
Stations: 4 elevated stations
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) approved the two proposed metro corridors in February 2025 as part of efforts to improve mass transit connectivity in the city’s eastern and southern growth belts. The implementation of both corridors is expected to be undertaken by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA).
Once developed, these corridors are expected to significantly improve public transport access to rapidly urbanising areas beyond the existing Pune Metro network, easing traffic congestion and supporting sustainable urban growth.
The issuance of the Detailed Design Consultancy tender reflects Maha-Metro’s focus on advancing Pune Metro Phase 2 through structured planning and timely execution. The project is seen as a crucial addition to the city’s long-term mobility strategy, linking peripheral areas with the core urban network.
