Manuj Singhal appointed as Director (Infrastructure) at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation

New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): Manuj Singhal has recently taken over as the Director (Infrastructure) of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), marking a significant development in the management of one of India’s largest metro networks. With a distinguished career spanning nearly three decades, Sh. Singhal brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role.

Having joined the Indian Engineering Services (IES) in 1994, Manuj Singhal has held pivotal positions across various domains throughout his career. His academic background includes a degree in Electrical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, followed by a post-graduation in the same discipline. Prior to his appointment as Director (Infrastructure), he served as the Executive Director (Rolling Stock / Project) at DMRC, where he contributed significantly to the expansion and operational efficiency of the metro system.

In his new capacity, Singhal will oversee the maintenance and development of critical infrastructure components within DMRC. This includes Civil, Electrical, Signal, Automatic Fare Collection (AFC), Telecom, Rolling Stock, and Solar Power systems. His mandate encompasses ensuring the seamless functioning and enhancement of these vital aspects to support the uninterrupted operation of Delhi’s metro services.

Throughout his tenure at DMRC, Singhal has made notable contributions that have shaped the metro's infrastructure and operational strategies. He played a pivotal role in redefining DMRC’s energy mix, which has significantly contributed to sustainability efforts within the organization. His expertise was also instrumental in executing complex electrical projects, such as the Kochi Metro Project with a D.C. Traction system. Additionally, he has been involved in strategic procurement initiatives, including the innovative lease-based procurement of lifts and escalators for the Phase – IV expansion project.

As he takes on the role of Director (Infrastructure), Singhal aims to continue fostering innovation and sustainability within DMRC.
