Sao Paulo, Brazil (Metro Rail Today): French consultancy firm SYSTRA MVA has been awarded an assignment to provide specialised technical engineering services to support the supervision, monitoring, and control of civil works of three stations and a train maintenance and parking yard as part of the Line 15 (Silver Line) expansion of the Sao Paulo Metro in Brazil.
Line 15 is South America’s first mass-transit monorail and one of the four lines that constitute the Sao Paulo Metro, Sao Paulo’s state metro company and one of the thirteen lines of the Mass Transit network of the Sao Paulo metropolitan area. This assignment is one of the most significant won by our teams in Brazil in 2022.

The work involves the existing station of Ipiranga on Line 10 with which Line 15 will connect the future stations of Boa Esperança and Jacu-Pêssego, and the parking yard Ragueb Chohfi. Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2023.
Sao Paulo has been developing a plan focused on improving urban mobility since the 1990s and the expanded metro network is one of its notable successes.
This latest project for Line 15 will contribute further to providing a high-quality service while reducing journey times. Furthermore, the metro system helps to ease road congestion, thereby contributing to the environment.
Built using completely driver-less technology, the Sao Paulo Metro line 15 is currently 11.6 km long and has 10 stations in the stretch between Vila Prudente and Sao Mateus. When complete, it will be approximately 27 kilometres long and have 18 stations, beginning at Ipiranga and ending at the future Hospital Cidade Tiradentes.
