Indrajit Mookerjee, Vice Chairman of Texmaco, highlighted the strategic significance of this acquisition in an interview with TOI. He stated that the deal would enable Texmaco to enhance its capabilities in passenger coach interiors, a sector where the company already excels. Notably, Texmaco has been involved in the interior design of the Vande Bharat trains. Mookerjee emphasized that the acquisition would provide the necessary working capital to scale operations and drive business growth.
Texmaco's advanced facility in Vadodara, Gujarat, will play a crucial role in leveraging the synergies from this acquisition. An official from Texmaco indicated that Saira Asia, with a current turnover of Rs 40-50 crore, has the potential to achieve a turnover target of Rs 500-600 crore in the coming years. This ambitious goal underscores the significant growth opportunities in the railway interiors market.
Sudipta Mukherjee, Managing Director of Texmaco, elaborated on the strategic benefits of the acquisition. He noted that Saira Asia has an impressive track record, including the interior design of the Delhi Metro. Mukherjee believes that this acquisition will position Texmaco as a comprehensive mechanical partner in the commuter mobility segment, offering solutions for both car body shells and interiors. This move is expected to address the evolving demands of the railway sector, providing integrated solutions that enhance the overall passenger experience.
Sagar Brahmbhatt, Director of Saira Asia, emphasized the importance of the passenger railway market in India. He highlighted the growing need for modern, comfortable, and efficient passenger railway interiors, which are critical to improving the overall travel experience. With Texmaco’s backing, Saira Asia is well-positioned to meet these demands and contribute to the modernization of India's railway infrastructure.
