U Subba Rao takes charge as General Manager at Integral Coach Factory, Chennai

Chennai, India (Metro Rail Today): In a significant development for the Indian Railways, U Subba Rao assumed the role of General Manager at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai. Taking over from the retiring BG Mallya, Rao stepped into his new position on 1st February 2024. Before this, he held the office of the Additional General Manager at South Western Railway, Hubbali.

Belonging to the distinguished 1987 batch of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineering, Rao brings a wealth of experience to his new role. A graduate in Mechanical Engineering, he further honed his skills through a Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy & Management at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.

Rao's diverse career within the Railways has seen him serve in various capacities, showcasing his expertise and leadership. Notable roles include his tenure as the Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer of South Western Railway, Hubbali, Chief Mechanical Engineer (Planning) of South Central Railway in Secunderabad, and Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Salem Division, Southern Railway.

Rao's career highlights also include leadership roles such as Chief Workshop Manager at the Coaching Workshop in Mysuru, South Western Railway, and Chief Workshop Engineer at the Rail Wheel Factory in Bangalore.
