Jaipur, India (Metro Rail Today): The Rajasthan Metro Rail Corporation Limited (RMRC) has received bids from as many as 13 infrastructure firms for the first major civil contract of Jaipur Metro Phase 2, reflecting strong industry interest in the state’s flagship urban mobility project.

The tender, floated in October 2025, is valued at ₹1,145.14 crore and has been issued under Package NCB: 2C-01. The bid submission window closed on December 3, 2025, following a pre-bid meeting held on November 7, 2025.

As per RMRC tender documents, the contract involves the design and construction of an elevated viaduct and 10 elevated metro stations—Prahladpura, Manpura, Bilwa Kalan, Bilwa, Goner Mod, Sitapura, JECC, Kumbha Marg, Haldighati Gate and Pinjrapole Gaushala—along with a spur line connecting to the Phase 2 depot. Architectural finishing is excluded from the scope. The alignment stretches from chainage (-) 600 m to 11,400 m, and the stipulated completion period is 34 months.

According to a PIB announcement, Jaipur Metro Phase 2 is planned as a 42.8-km North–South corridor connecting Prahladpura to Todi Mod, with 36 stations, of which 34 will be elevated and two underground. The corridor will pass through key areas such as Haldi Ghati Gate, Sitapura Industrial Area, SMS Hospital, Ambabari and Vidhyadhar Nagar, significantly enhancing access to major residential, industrial and institutional hubs.

The alignment largely follows Tonk Road and the Sitapura industrial belt, targeting improved connectivity for some of Jaipur’s fastest-growing employment and housing zones. Integration with the existing Jaipur Metro network has also been planned, including a direct interchange at Chandpole Station on the East–West corridor and a foot-over-bridge link at Jaipur Junction Metro Station to enable seamless passenger transfers.

With competitive participation from leading national infrastructure players, the bidding response is seen as a strong endorsement of Jaipur Metro Phase 2, which is expected to play a critical role in easing congestion and supporting the city’s long-term urban growth.
