DMRC invites bids for ₹114.24 Crore AFC System Tender for Patna Metro Stations

Patna, India (Rail & Metro Today): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has invited bids for a ₹114.24 crore Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system contract for 24 stations under Phase 1 of the Patna Metro project. The tender covers the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the AFC system, including the central computer and back-office infrastructure.

The contract, identified as PS04, is an important technology package for the upcoming Patna Metro network and will support automated ticketing and fare collection across both corridors of Phase 1.

₹114.24 Crore Patna Metro AFC Tender

Under the tender, the selected contractor will be responsible for providing the complete Automatic Fare Collection system, including its associated central computer and back-office facilities.

The AFC system will be deployed across 24 stations of Corridor-1 and Corridor-2 of Patna MRTS. The scope also includes integration with the FI/Acquirer Bank, enabling the necessary financial and payment-processing interface for the fare collection ecosystem.

The estimated contract value is ₹114.24 crore, while the tender security has been fixed at ₹57.12 lakh. The completion period is 48 months from the date of Notice to Proceed (NTP).

Patna Metro AFC Tender Schedule

DMRC has scheduled the pre-bid meeting for 20 August 2026 at 11:00 hours. The bid submission window will run from 31 August 2026 at 11:00 hours to 7 September 2026 at 15:00 hours.

The tender is expected to attract technology and systems-integration companies with experience in metro AFC systems, automated ticketing, central back-office platforms and electronic payment integration.

Patna Metro Phase 1: 31-Km Network

Patna Metro Phase 1 comprises approximately 31 km of metro corridors with 24 stations. The project is being developed through two principal corridors designed to provide east-west and north-south connectivity across the city.

Corridor-1, or the Red Line, will connect Danapur Cantonment with Khemni Chak, creating an east-west rapid transit link across Patna.

Corridor-2, or the Blue Line, will run between Patna Junction and New ISBT, connecting important commercial, residential and transport destinations along the north-south axis.

DMRC as General Consultant

The Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited (PMRCL) is responsible for implementing the project, while DMRC is serving as the General Consultant.

The AFC package is among the key systems contracts required for the operationalisation of Patna Metro. Once implemented, the system will provide automated fare collection and support efficient passenger processing across the project's 24 stations.

The tender represents another important step towards establishing the technology and passenger-service infrastructure required for the phased commissioning of the Patna Metro Phase 1 network.
