Jaipur, India (Rail & Metro Today): Paras Railtech Private Limited has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a ₹84.72 crore contract awarded through the financial bidding process for ballastless track works under the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC). The contract covers the installation, testing and commissioning of ballastless track in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The final award remains pending, subject to evaluation and approval by the competent authority.
According to the bid results published on 22 October 2026, three companies participated in the tender. Paras Railtech quoted ₹84.72 crore, followed by Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited at ₹85.93 crore and Rahee Infratech Limited at ₹91.54 crore.
The estimated contract cost was ₹78.46 crore, with an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹1.57 crore. The stipulated completion period is 720 days.
The financial bids show a relatively narrow gap between the two lowest bidders. Texmaco Rail & Engineering’s bid was approximately 1.4 per cent higher than Paras Railtech’s, while Rahee Infratech’s bid was around 8 per cent higher than the L1 offer.
Paras Railtech’s emergence as the lowest bidder marks an important stage in the procurement process. However, L1 status does not by itself constitute a final contract award. JMRC must complete the applicable evaluation and approval procedures before confirming the successful contractor.
The bid comparison also indicates that the lowest offer is above the estimated contract cost. The final outcome will depend on the tender conditions, financial evaluation and the procuring authority’s decision.
Ballastless track systems use rails supported by concrete slabs or other engineered track structures rather than conventional loose stone ballast. Such systems are widely used in metro and other urban rail applications where track stability, precise alignment and reduced routine maintenance are important considerations.
The installation and commissioning of track infrastructure are critical to the performance, safety and reliability of metro systems. Proper execution involves accurate track geometry, integration with other railway systems, quality assurance and testing before the infrastructure is accepted for service.
For Jaipur Metro, the contract represents another infrastructure procurement focused on maintaining and developing the technical assets required for urban rail operations. Once the tender process is completed and the work is executed, the project will contribute to the city’s metro infrastructure.
The next milestone is JMRC’s final decision on the tender. Until an official award is announced, Paras Railtech Private Limited should be described as the L1 bidder rather than the confirmed contractor.
